Welcome to APCA!
“The Alberta Pastoral Care Association promotes quality pastoral care though an amalgam of professional chaplains and/or spiritual care practitioners, clergy, trained volunteer chaplains, and trained lay pastoral care/religious community visitors, who connect and network to provide support and encouragement for each other and who work together to provide education and training opportunities at a non-professional level for pastoral caregivers.” – APCA Mission Statement

50th Anniversary Celebration POSTPONED to the Fall
Due to a series of unavoidable and unfortunate events, the APCA board has made the decision to postpone to the Fall, the 50th Anniversary celebration and conference that was to take place on May 2 and 3 in Red Deer. Those who have registered will receive a refund or can designate those funds as a donation and receive a tax receipt.
A new conference date has not yet been set, but will be announced after our June Annual General Meeting. The AGM date will be determined in the coming week. All APCA members are invited to participate in the AGM. Look for details soon.
As we continue to plan for our milestone celebration in the Fall, we will also be partnering with other organizations to provide training for lay pastoral care providers, as well as for clergy looking to refresh and update their pastoral care skills.
This is an exciting opportunity for APCA to expand its reach, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this training and support ministry will unfold. More information on these training events will be provided in the coming months.
If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please remember to pray for APCA as we move forward into the future that God is preparing for us.
In Jesus’ Name,
Rev. Kevin G. Powell, president
